- "There's something about a man-made disaster that let us know that we are not protected, and we are not prepared. When you walk out of your home one day and never walk back into life as you knew it, there is a knowledge that you live with on a daily basis: the emperor has no plan. " This statement was initially about Hurricane Katherine but is this statement holding true for the Churchill fires of 2009, that intermingled with Black Saturday fires the following week? There has now been nearly twenty months since the first of these devastating fires began. Many changes have been written about. Harsh devastating or emotional pictures of the times posted. hero and villains plastered all about. But what have the quiet people seen that they are not telling about? Over time people have quietly told their stories. No they are not they ready to go public. Their anguish is too raw. Their relationships and life has been put on hold until they need to cope with it. But things are not going right and they do not know why. So the stories I am allowed to share are the stories I share with you.
