FACE PAINTING


Face painting is not just about slapping paint onto someone else’s skin.



There are basic things to consider that assist this experience of both the face painter and the consumer that lift this close time to a pleasant level of interchange.The word presentation covers many areas that you, the face painter, need to consider. You are remembered more for how you leave, what you leave, than for what you have done.



1. Of self.
a. Obtaining the site.
i. Target audience expected.
ii. Dress appropriately.
iii. Behaviour is to be exemplary
1. Introductions.
2. Farewells.
b. Little things that mean a lot.
i. Manners.
c. Clothes worn on day.
i. Neat, clean and user friendly.
ii. Be professional in self presentation.
iii. Clip hair up.
1. Keep hair away from your face and that of the consumer.

Of site.

a. Cleanliness
i. Before.
ii. During.
iii. After.

3.
Of equipment.

a. Looks good.
i. Washed, ironed and folded.
b. Clean equipment:
i. Before setting up,
ii. During use between consumers.
iii. While packing down.
iv. Once back at base when conducting safety checks before final pack ups occur.
c. Well cared for, clean and safe.

1. You are effectively being invited to invade the consumer’s personal space.
a. People are sensitive to smells.
i. Watch your mouth care.
ii. Refresh your mouth through water drinks.
iii. Do your underarms smell?
iv. Body spray, perfume or after shave too strong?

iii. Consumer’s friends and associates.
1. Consumers do not like to think they will be laughed at by their friends.
a. Keep their friends and associates at a distance.
b. Stop painting until this happens.
c. Consumers who are distracted tend to move, laugh giggle or talk.
d. You muck up they are not satisfied.
e. Therefore alter the mistake quick or allow them to remove paint off at no charge.
f. You charge if they do not remove.

a. Photograph and record everything you can.
